Wolf Girl of Skyrim - 1

  • Wolf Girl of Skyrim

“How can we just leave her here? She will never survive without someone to take care of her, we should go back to town, see if someone will take pity and raise her.” A ragged and travel worn blonde Nord female said, following an equally ragged and travel worn dark haired Nord male. Both are heavily scarred on their arms and faces, and have deep bags beneath their eyes. They wear heavy traveling cloaks with their deep hoods drawn far over their faces, partially concealing the scars. Their boots are badly damaged and looked as if they had been patched many times, compliments of the uneven stitching and a smattering of different colored leather dotting the overall hide. The female is cradling a bundle of soft wolf fur that she holds protectively to her breast. The male holds an oiled oak longbow that he uses has a walking staff, as he favors his left leg.

“You know that no one will, we are monsters to them, SHE is a monster to them. Their narrow mindedness is damning.” The male grunted, keeping his gaze to the near invisible deer trail they were following.
“True, but to just leave her here? how will she eat? who will protect her, we can’t rely on Hircine to take care a baby, blessed by him even as she is.”
“I have no intention of leaving her to the wilds’ judgment, too often it proves too cruel.
I’m calling in a favor.” The male quickened his pace, leaving his companion to digest that statement. The man can move at a surprisingly quick pace, considering his lame leg.
The duo continued to move deeper into the pine forest, their tracks softened by the pine needles and their movements hidden by the shroud of night. Their only light was the two moons that cast an eerie pale light on the thick underbrush the Nords navigated with an increasingly faster pace.
“Slow down, Anton, the child birth has left me weak still.” The female pleaded through her heaving, Sweat streaked down her face in droplets, despite the cold Skyrim night.
“I know, my love, but we are almost there. They come for us still and we have to get as far away from the girl once we finish so they don’t find her. Have strength, Song.” Anton said, but his pace slowed, allowing Song to catch up. Song would have liked to ask what he meant by calling in a favor but she concentrated on following him.
Suddenly leaving the underbrush that had beleaguered them, They found themselves gazing upon a beautiful forest spring, The massive pines stood like wardens to the natural shrine, protecting it from prying eyes. Torchbugs hovered in droves, lighting up the water, revealing a thriving community of colorful flowers.

“It’s beautiful!” Song said, momentarily forgetting her crippling exhaustion.
“Indeed. Cover her ears.” Anton said, throwing back his hood, revealing his close cropped black hair and scarred face. Song obeyed and watched as Anton took a wide stance. Throwing back his head, he loosed a gut wrenching howl, reminiscent of the fiercest of wolves. Answering his call, a host of wolves harmonized their voices in greeting.
“Whatever you do, don’t move or make a sound, and NEVER look him in the eyes.” Growled Anton. He received a fearful nod in response. Moments crawled by, Anton’s body stood stiff as granite as his eyes sweeped across the clearing. Like a ghost, a monstrously large Wolf with fur as white as infant snow padded into the light and up to Anton.

The two began speaking the guttural tongue of Wolf-speak.
“I am not a dog to be summoned, Halfkin. Why do you disturb my pack?” The wolf growled. Respectfully looking down, Anton answered:
“My mate and I are hunted, we are not long for this world.”
“I will not send my pack to defend you, your journey here was folly.” The wolf turned to leave back the way he came.
“Stop!” Anton cried. In a flash, the white wolf crossed the distance between them in a single leap, knocking him to the ground and pinning him there.

“Never command me, Halfkin, I may owe you a small favor, but I will not hesitate to rip you apart! you are not Alpha, I am Alpha.”
“and I am not some cub to disregard! I’m calling in the favor.”
“You saved me from a slight humiliation, I will not endanger my pack to save you or your halfkin mate. what you ask is too much.”
“I do not ask that of you, Alpha. My mate and I are walking deadbeasts.”
“Name your Plea and await judgment then.” Alpha released Anton and let him stand up.
“My mate has just given us a cub. We do not wish for it to share our fate. I ask that you take her and raise her to be strong. your debt to me would be fulfilled completely." Alpha stared long at Anton, panting slightly. finally he broke the silence.
“Let me see it.” Anton motioned for Song to give him the bundle. With hesitation she handed it over. Unwrapping the bundle, Anton revealed the sleeping girl babe. He placed her on the ground in front of Alpha. Alpha bent over her and sniffed her while he examined her. Her blonde hair had grown uncharacteristically fast for one so young and her teeth had slightly pointed quality. Instead of the normal flatness of a normal human fingernail, hers had a slight claw-like point and a harder constitution.
         “She is Halfkin?” Alpha asked.
“And so much more. The daughter of two werewolves.”
“My mate has just lost a cub, and can feed one more. She will be safe with us. she will need to be strong though, as strong as any other cub. I will not raise a runt.”
“I wouldn’t ask for anything more.”
“For what it’s worth, halfkin, I am saddened by your fate.” Reaching down, Alpha grabbed a mouthful of the babe’s blonde hair and lifted her, causing the baby to wake up and start crying. Alpha growled and startled her, causing her to stop crying. Turning, He padded out of the clearing.
“Farewell, Alpha.” Said Anton. He turned to Song and nodded.
         “She will be safe?”
“She will have to rise to the challenge of being wolf-kin. It will be hard, but she won’t starve. Now, let’s give her something to remember us by.”
“ Lets.” They clasped hands and in unison shifted shape. Their limbs extended and their skin split. hair sprouted all across their new bodies as their mouths elongated and their nails extended and became sharp. Throughout this incredibly painful process, their screams rapidly transformed into Lycan howls, lamenting the loss of their daughter. When the gruesome scene had finished, they bounded back from where they came, toward their doom.

Haunting story, Juniorrat, with tons of possibilities.  The perspective of this character would be a very interesting read...reminiscent of Kipling and Edgar Rice Burroughs.  Hope you continue!
