The Scaled River

  • The sun dips with a last solemn splash Light drips and falls as I watch the final flash Time loses meaning, each season winter Happiness evaporates or gets frozen like water Crystals of love captured in time Whose details fade as the surface loses its shine The Dragon coils and uncoils with gem-eyed tarnish Watching, unmoved, all the joy vanish. Within the depth of each is passion's shade Like the last rays of light each destined to fade To be kindled anew at the coming of dawn Or be smothered, extinguished, unseen and unmourned. Thus flows the river to the Aetherial sea Where the lost sail, waiting patiently And each night I say to the silvery stars and moon "A little longer is all, not now but soon."
