Magicka: Book 1 - ToC

  • Looking for Magic

It is the third year of the 5th Era. The continent of Tamriel is covered in darkness and the air is filled with the scent of death. Seven years prior, a new emperor sat down on the Ruby Throne in the Imperial City, promising to revive the Empire of Tamriel to it's former glory. And he did just that. In two short years, he managed to defeat the Dominion and occupy Summerset Isle. He brought Hammerfell, Morrowind and Argonia back under the Empire's banner. He then started building a new order of spy's and personal bodyguards, called the Order of Steel, a dark and twisted version of the Blades.

Then, the impossible happened, In one swift move, he eliminated the Elder Council and banned the use of magic. Naturaly, people rebelled, but they didn't stand a chance against the Emperor's Legions. Members of the Order of Steel started hunting down and slaughtering mages or those allied with them, wherever they could. Murder spread like a wildfire as all traces of a once civilized world were erased and forgotten.

Now, three years later, Tamriel is a shadow of it's former self, with magic all but extinct and the Deadra and the Divines forgotten. However, there is yet hope. In a small village near Skingrad, Cyrodiil, a young woman will find out that she is the arcane arts last hope for survival.

Pretty dark, Foxy. A clean slate upon which to write and shape the setting. This will be interesting!

I'm still to write all the major events that happened between the start of the story and the end of Skyrim. However, I can tell you the year gap. 64 years.
