Marriage in Skyrim

  • It has been confirmed we'll be able to tie the in-game knot.  Will this be something we'll pursue?  I've learned that your spouse will cook for you, give the occasional gift, and can be used as a companion who will participate in combat and also be able to carry items for you.  Sound interesting?

Wait until they start nagging that you spend too much time in the mead hall and spending all your septims on shopping trips....ugh.  What do you think about the inclusion of this feature in Skyrim?  Will you be on the hunt for that special trophy wife or husband?

Half of all marriages end in melee combat ya know.

Do you know if we could have kids?
And if they grow up, unlike fable where they stay small forever, it would be awesome to fight alongside your son, or several, hell, just get alot of kids and make your own army

Of three characters I plan to do, only one will even consider marriage.
The psychologically scarred Nord berserker whose wife and son were recently killed by Imperials? No marriage.
The Argonian Shadowscale, a physical embodiment of relentless...  more

The way marriage sounds in Skyrim sounds similar to the way marriage was in the Fable series... I'm going to have to experiment with it, and see if it's a feature I'll be using. (:

I would approve of a wife for my Nord if I can find a strapping woman that will go dungeon crawling with me.  If she just wants to stay home, bake bread, and get pregnant then no thanks.

Then on the second time when I play as either a gruff violent/evilish nord/orc he will treat the wife terribly, I want to see if...  more

When I first heard of marriage in Skyrim I had a immediate flashback to Fable 2... If it is anything like that then sorry marriage wont be a feature that I will explore.

I hope it wont be boring like it was in Fable II. I hope there is a bit more to do with your spouse than give them gifts and have...children. I hope there is lots of lore in it, as Vix said, like certain rites. Actually have your character have a real rel...  more

If I do this it will be strictly for RP purposes, maybe to tie relations with a rival clan or group, or to increase relations already established...Considering I will be a Lord, I may end up finding myself playing these political games...

I think I might give it a try. should be fun, though you make being a trophy wife/husband sound as if its something you might hang above your fireplace.
I hope they make your partner one of those necessary Npc's (the ones who can't die) I'd hate to ...  more
