The Daughter of Evergloam (CH 4.)

  • A sigh of relief passed Lexia's vocals as she passed under the over pass to the small village of Riverwood. By this time the sun had risen to near noon.

"Well, this must be Riverwood. Hopefully they have an inn, get some real food and besides, no place better to get information."

As she walked the single road through town she heard another loud booming roar over head. The shadow of what could have only been a dragon crossed over as she gazed upward to see the body of a large black dragon fly over.

"A dragon? I thought those were only existed in legend, killed off centuries ago."

Bringing her gaze down to see the sign of the inn in her face.

"Sleeping Giant Inn. Well nothing if not convenient." She walked up the steps and to the door. Greeted by the warmth of the fire in the center of the inn, and smell of food cooking in the spit. She made her way to the bar keep and sat at one of the wooden stools.

"Welcome to the Sleeping Giant. Can I get you anything?" Were the first words she heard come out of the man behind the counter's mouth.

Lexia was about to respond when a woman's voice spoke from the side, coming out of a room to the right of the counter was an elder breton woman. Not but morr in her mid to lete fifties.

"Orgnar, the ale's going bad, we need to get a new batch." Appearantly talking to the man behind the counter as he seemed to grunt at the woman. " Orgnar, did you hear me? "

    The man replied, stating,

"Yes Delphine, the ale's going bad."

    Lexia simply noted to herself.

"Well, not getting any ale here."

The breton woman who Lexia now identified as Delphine continued.

"I guess you don't have potatoes in your ears after all, just make sure we get a new batch in soon." And walked off.

Orgnar, turning his attention back to Lexia sighed and spoke once more.

"Sorry about that, judging by your clothes you probably know how it is."

Lexia loosed a small smirk and replied.

"Honestly, yeah I do. I take it your name is Orgnar. Well seeing that your ale is going bad, how about a mug of wine and a room?"

"Sure thing." Replied Orgnar. "It'll be fifteen septims."

"That's cheap, compared to the inn in Bruma. We charged around thirty for just a room."

    Orgnar smiled slightly.

"So you're from Cyrodil?, What brings you to Skyrim. These are bad times for travelers."

Lexia replied as her wine was poured and placed on the counter, she pulled a small sack from her side pouch.

"Here's thirty, since it's what I expected to pay just keep the rest as a tip." Grasping the mug in front of her she answered his question. "As to why I came to Skyrim, I received some information, and the hall of the vigilant based here in Skyrim might have the answers I need."

Orgnar spoke again as Lexia sipped from her wine.

"The hall of the vigilant? That's a good ways across Skyrim. Out by Dawnstar if I'm not mistaken. Hate to give lousy informationl but someone in whiterun may be able to direct you better. May be best to rest in Riverwood."
