The Dovahkiin Chronicles~ Book One~ Dovahkiin~ Chapter 2~This is Helgen

  • I'm only 19, and I'm about to get decapitated. I haven't even fully grown up yet. This is not how I pictured my life to be.
"Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh. Divines, please help me?!" Rags said. The names he spoke of are some of the Divines. The Divines are our holy Gods. Mara, the goddess of love. Dibella, the goddess of beauty. Kynareth, the goddess of the elements. Akatosh, the Dragon God of Time. And Shor, who is known as both the God of Creation and The God of Warriors.
"Look at him," Blondie said, "General Tullius, the military governer." Oh, so that is General Tullius. He is middle-age, he has short, gray hair, and is an Imperial. So he is the General of the Legion in Skyrim?
"And it looks like the Thalmor are with him" Blondie said, "Those damn Elves, I bet they had something to do with this." The Thalmor? Are you serious? My grandfather worked with the Aldmeri Dominion.
"This is Helgen. A town in Whiterun Hold. I used to be sweet on a girl from here. Funny, when I was a boy, Imperial walls and towers used to make me feel so safe." I wouldn't call it funny, I would call it irony. As a boy, Blondie felt safe around Imperial soldiers. But now, he is fighting against them. Ironic, right?
"I wonder if Vilod is still making his special mead with juniper berries mixed in." We seem to be riding into a town. This town, which Blondie call Helgen, is located in the forests. It reminds me of my family's cabin outside Eldenroot. Blondie breaks the silence by saying "We're stopping. It's happening." "It's the end of the line, isn't it." I finally say. "Yes, it is." Blondie replies. "Before we depart, what is your name?" Blondie said. "Faraine. Faraine Adrami. What is yours?" I said. "Ralof."
