A place of sadness,
grave and tomb.
'Tis here hearts fall,
folk wreathed in gloom.
I came upon this dreary town,
and heard an old man's plight.
He said, I'd need to enter a house,
and perform some thieving, light.
I broke into the cottage,
with stealth like that of death.
Absconded with said property,
left not even traces of my breath.
Returning to the elder,
with the stolen goods in hand.
First time I've gotten coin for theft,
instead of reprimand.
Impressed by my show of skill, he was,
he asked of me another task.
But he required full discretion,
for the dark secret he'd unmask.
I agreed to his condition,
and listened intently to his plea.
Then he told me of his ancestor,
a vampire, who'd in his time drank bloody sea.
He said he must be destroyed,
lest his family name be dragged through mud.
So 'twas then I departed, hastily,
to cleanse the keep of flowing blood.
To the mountain's peak, I did ascend,
and lay eyes upon the throne.
Then swore an oath of blood,
that from this peak, the beast'd be thrown.
I stormed into the castle,
laying waste with my bow, to all within
It mattered not to me, who I'd slain,
I slew them all, both women and men.
'Till last I gazed up, to the beast,
seeing fear in his crimson eyes.
He knew that once I'd sheathed my bow,
'twas the hour of his demise.
I unleashed my dormant power,
burning everything in sight.
For with my power, I'd sworn long ago,
to never fear the night.
Once all was dead, this time for good,
I strutted out, satisfaction filled.
Then smiling, etched another mark into my bow,
"Another bastard killed!"
