The Ending of the Blades

  • Heads, heads, they loll along In the cart pushed by soldiers strong Blades, Blades; they are the Blades With knives in backs from Altmer raids Mede will bleed. Altmer with deed. Headsman with head. Blades are dead. They could not save the Septims, They could not save themselves, They could only die and fail, alone- With no one left for oaths to own. Heads, heads, they loll along Down the roads so very long. Talos, Talos, they worshiped Talos And now the lands watch; engrossed Dominion won. Now there's none. Empire lost. Freedoms tossed. They could not win the battle, They could not win the war, They could only die and fail, alone- With blood spilled out unto the stone Heads, heads, they loll along For a reason not-so-wrong. Red, red, they are stained red- Red with blood where necks have bled Ashes float up From the spilt cup. Pyres burn high Into Auri-El's Sky. Heads, Heads, they loll along After the demanding song. None shall stand amidst their place As they roll upon the palace base.

@Axius If the Thalmor need a propaganda minister, I guess I could apply.
@Lissette A bonfire with dancing is too primal. They're more likely to paint the scene while a bard plays this for them.

Wow this is awesome! This poem earns my strongest love at least because of its subject)))

Nice! I like the simple rhyme scheme that almost masks the darker tone of the poem.
